Since volume varies over time but also intraday, how can we gauge how the current observed volume compares to typical volume for that market? This indicator tracks volume over time and overlays the current actual volume onto a volume grid to help answer that question.

The VWAP indicator displays the volume weighted average price including 1, 2, and 3 standard deviation bands on the
chart panel, calculated over a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The VWAP is a trading benchmark used by traders that gives the average price a security has traded at throughout a time period, based on both volume and price. VWAP is important because it provides traders with insight into both the trend and value of a security.
